Donald Trump’s campaign has distanced itself from the 2016 US presidential election, saying it had never even heard of the election until now.
At a rally today, President Trump said Hillary Clinton was responsible for the US election and that any claims he or his team were involved were a lie. “I’ve never met the 2016 election campaign, I don’t know the 2016 election campaign, I wasn’t even there,” he said.
He said Hillary Clinton had orchestrated connections between Trump’s team and Russia in order to help Trump win.
“Everyone looking at my campaign team’s links to Russia, yet no-one looking at role crooked Hillary’s played in setting those links up. Sad!” he later tweeted.
