All grade five students at a local Adelaide primary school are the best in their class, it was revealed today.
The findings come after an extensive parent-teacher interview session at the school last night.
Teacher Caroline Watts said she was surprised to learn that so many of her pupils were gifted. “It was a real eye-opener for me,” she said this morning. “I actually thought I had quite a few struggling students, along with the usual array of average kids. So it’s a real thrill for me to discover that every single one of them is outstanding”.
With 100% of her students in the top 10% of the class, Ms Watts will put in place a special extension program, to enable gifted children to develop at a faster rate than the rest of the class.
