Workers Looking Forward to Not Listening to What Their Colleagues Did Over Holiday Break

Office workers around the country can’t wait to switch right off when their colleagues tell them all about how they spent the Christmas break.

Accounts Manager Sarah Shepherd said she was looking forward to asking her team what they did over the break, and then blankly staring into the middle distance.

“It’s really nice to catch up with everyone again and ignore them while they tell you all the incredibly boring things they did over the festive season,” she said.

Jessica Benton, a marketing executive from Sydney, said she was looking forward to nodding politely as one of her colleagues told her an uninteresting anecdote about how much he ate and drank over the holidays. “I’ll laugh and nod, and then say something about the weather on Christmas day, before commenting about how it feels like we never left. At that point I can make a pre-prepared comment about the amount of unread emails waiting for us at our desks, and we can pretend the conversation never happened”.
