Melbourne Dad Roger Waterman says he plans to watch Prince Harry marry the German Chancellor this weekend.
While conceding it was an unlikely match – especially given the 30 year age gap – Mr Waterman said as long as they were happy it was ok with him. “Marriages have certainly changed since my day! But good for them!” he said, explaining to his children that Angela Merkel was one of the longest-serving leaders in the European Union.
“I’m sure she’ll be interested to hear Harry’s views on German fiscal policy”.
He said he was surprised to hear that Ms Merkel was continuing on in her role as Chancellor, but noted that the royal family had modernised. “That’s the way of modern princesses these days I guess!”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wed on Saturday.
